Queen Routine

Today I want to talk about something very near and dear to my heart: Sleep.

Getting out of bed is hard, guys. It really is. Especially when you’ve been stretched to the ends of the earth for days or weeks on end, and your body is just, almost literally, dying for some relief. Some relaxation. A break. Exhibit A: Me last week.

Well, let me tell you something. This morning I awoke blissfully undisturbed by the muffled alarms beneath my pillow. I silenced each and every one (because I need help), stretched my arms wide and tall, and literally floated out of bed. Well, pretty literally. I felt rested, relaxed and just… at ease.

So, how is this possible? BECAUSE – I made time for myself to relax, unwind, and do NOTHING except care for myself last night before I went to sleep. Thus, I have emerged from my worn-out state as queen-ruler of my universe. I feel so good that I wanted to share my luxurious home self-treatment with you guys.

Without further adieu, here she is:

MY QUEEN ROUTINE
Time: 30-60 min

  1. Cue the music: I threw on “Evening Acoustic” on Spotify and let the voices of Iron & Wine and Joseph serenade me while I warmed up the shower.
  2. Rub a dub, baby: I took my time washing my hair, making sure to massage every bit of my scalp – sooo good, you guys. So good.
  3. Hop out, fill the tub up: While I filled the tub with hot water, my vibrant red Overtone conditioner sat & worked its magic on my hair (if you have colored hair, you NEED Overtone in your life – just sayin’. It has this wonderful peppermint smell that stimulates your scalp while depositing hues that extend the life of your hair color!).
  4. Add a cup or two of epsom salt: PP has some awesome epsom salt formulas (Muscle Through and Sleepy Sleep are my favorites!) I used Muscle Through this time because I feelin’ the rosemary – Sleepy Sleep is infused with lavender, which is just lovely and calming. I became one with my bath for about 20 minutes – but really, that’s just an estimate because I felt timeless in that tub.
  5. Wash up: After soaking, I washed up with my Milkin’ It chunk, and exfoliated my fresh and clean skin with my favorite Snarky, Fauxpology. I just adore its smell – So much so that I got the perfume crayon in its scent!!!
  6. Face time: My face needed a little loving, so I exfoliated with BFF, patted dry, and followed up with my go-to mask, Cackle Spackle. I love using these two together – my face felt SO smooth, and the little red patches around my nose really calmed down. I washed up, then moisturized with Never Grow Up, which is a toning and brightening anti-aging cream. I am a huge fan of Moisture 911, but I’m out of it at the moment (sad face).
  7. Finishing touches: I lathered up neck-to-toe with Hard Daze Night, which is a yummy, fragrant, hemp-scented body butter. If you’re looking for a softer-smelling body butter, I would highly recommend Fresh, Creamy Milk. I like HDN a lot, but FCM is hands-down the best body butter Perfectly Posh has. It has a little more of a, for lack of better word, warm and creamy scent. The bamboo extract just gives it a little oomph of decadence. I love it.
  8. Get comfy: This is the best part. Grab your oversized pajamas and get COMFY! Your restful, well-deserved night of sleep awaits. Your favorite body butter will soak into your skin throughout the night, so you’ll wake up with soft, supple skin all over.

And there you have it! Like magic, you’ll awaken rejuvenated with a brand new mission.

This little routine is for all you queens, kings and mystical beauties reading. I really went in, so feel free to modify time or steps to your liking!

It really feels like an at-home spa treatment, guys. If I had planned it a little better, I would have added a pedicure… next time 😉

Gotta have your Posh? Grab it here!

Sip, Sip, Hooray!

Hi my name is Mariah and I like to drink as I get my face mask on 🤗

One of my absolute favorite things to do for myself since I’ve starting using Perfectly Posh, are face masks! ❤ I discovered how beneficial they can be for my skin, like how the Cackle Spackle, with its charcoal and kaolin clay, draws impurities from my pores, or how Hot & Gold, with its colloidal gold, gives my skin that brighter appearance 😍

These two are a only a couple of my favorite face masks, if not for their fun colors! I love the way I feel after doing my own facial, it just feels so clean washing my face then applying an “off” mask to get all that gunk out, then an “on” mask to replenish all those good oils back into my face! If you hadn’t tried a face masking yet, I totally recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing day in! Let’s face it, we females do quite a lot, we deserve a glass of wine with a bubble bath and face mask every now and then 😘

CHEERS! 🥂

Perfectly Posh Add Ons for Massage Therapists

I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for twelve years, so I’ve had my hands on a whole lot of products. We’re talking bulk oils (55 gallon drums anyone?), cremes (5 gallon pails that went rancid before they could be used up), and scrubs (you mean they’re not supposed to dehydrate back into sharp-edged sugar daggers?). Products that took up a lot of room, couldn’t be retailed, and left little flexibility if I had a client who was allergic to or didn’t care for a particular scent or formula.

Enter Perfectly Posh: 9 oz. body scrubs, 2 oz. masks (in sanitary tubes — no double dipping!), 4 oz. facial moisturizers, 6 oz. body cremes (again, in tubes), and 3 oz. hand cremes. This list just cratches the surface of Posh’s entire line, but it’s a great place to start when we’re talking massage add ons.

My treament room has a sink in it, but not a shower. I make sure my clients don’t have any allergies or sensitivities to any ingredients prior to starting a service, and I’m always willing to customize a service to reach my clients’ specific goals. Here are some ideas I’ve used with a high degree of success:

Foot Treatment

Soak feet in a tub of warm water. Add a Perfectly Posh Fizi Bath Bomb or a partial scoop of All Mixd Up Bath Salts. Scrub legs and feet with a Posh body scrub that compliments the scent of the bath bomb or salts (I like Love The Dark for perfumey combos and Espresso Yo’Self for yummy dessert combos). After 10 – 15 minutes, remove you client’s feet from the tub and dry them off. Have them get on the massage table for the remainder of their massage, and when you get to their legs and feet use a Posh body creme on both (I like Honey Honey and Hippie Hooray for leg and foot massage), or use Toes Before Bros Foot Mask on their feet, and perform an extended foot massage. Remove excess product with steamed towels.

Back Treatment

After massaging your client’s back, remove excess oil with a gentle cleanser (Posh’s That’s So Cuke Foaming Face Wash is my top pick) and steamed towels. Apply The Stripper Body Mud to your client’s back and cover with a steamed towel, then insulate with at least two layers of dry towels to keep your client warm. Leave on for 10 – 15 minutes and remove with steamed towels. Apply a Posh body creme (Hippie Hooray compliments The Stripper’s fragrance really well) and massage it into your client’s skin.

Facial Treatment

Cleanse your client’s skin using a gentle cleanser like Posh’s That’s So Cuke Foaming Face Wash and remove with a steamed towel. Gently massage Apricots Overnight into your client’s skin using upward strokes. Allow mask to absorb for a total of twenty minutes (you can perform a scalp or neck massage during this time as well.) Remove mask with steamed towels and apply a Perfectly Posh facial moisturizer of your choice (I like Night & Day or Dawn On Me Daytime Facial Oil.)

Thanks to Posh, I have fun creating  spa services and packages again! It’s also nice to have a full line of cruelty-free, naturally-based, American-made spa products at my disposal. If my clients want to use some at home they can purchase what I have in stock, or they can place an order on my (free!) personalized website 24/7/365. (This is especially handy for my out of town clients — they can order before they fly home and have their Posh waiting for them when they arrive.)

If you’re a massage therapist who could use some adventurous spa products that won’t break the bank and will give you limitless add on and retail possibilities, check out what Perfectly Posh has to offer. Of course I’m always here to answer absolutely any questions you have about Posh or spa add ons in general. Pamper on, massage therapists!

The Gateway

I love sending samples to people. No, really. I love to get people addicted to Posh because I really believe in the product.

Just call me your neighborhood Posh dealer.

But, when it comes to sending samples, there’s usually a rhyme to my reason: Enter the “crack pack.”

The “crack pack” includes the things I find the most addictive. I would say most people agree, because people usually end up ordering at least one of the products. Posh has a million (and one!) great things, but these are the ones that I find the hardest to resist.

The “crack pack” includes:
1. BFF- because of course it does. This is the product that turned me from someone who barely heard of Perfectly Posh to someone who needed to be a consultant and own it ALL. There’s a reason it’s Posh’s top seller. There’s a reason my boo steals it and gets angry when we run out. It’s because it’s AWESOME.

A face cleanser with tiny exfoliating beads and peppermint oil? Sign me up (OK, OK, I *did* sign up) You wash your face with this once and you will feel so clean. You will feel ALIVE.

2. Moisturize 911. After you wash your face with that glorious peppermint cleanser, you need to add a little moisturizer, right? (That’s a rhetorical question. OF COURSE you need a moisturizer after you wash). Moisturize 911 features orange essential oil and caffeine, which brightens you right up. Sometimes, when I feel super lazy and I’m going out in public without makeup, I just add some Moisturize 911 so I don’t look completely scary.

As one customer said to me: “Do they make that in gallon drums? I need to bathe in it.

3. All I’ve Avo Wanted. Lots of Posh masks are awesome. Until a week ago, I would’ve said a completely different one. But I tried All I’ve Avo Wanted for masking Sunday and WHOA. I’m in ❤ ❤ ❤

I don’t have dry skin. I have oily skin. And I still fell in love with this mask. My face felt so soft after I used it. I went and rubbed my face on my boo and the children. If you have dry skin, this will feel like a huge drink of water. It’s also really gentle. Great for those with sensitive skin or those who react badly to everything. It’s my new crush.

4. Indigo Girl body butter. Really, any body butter. They are all indulgent. But something about that Indigo Girl. First, it’s WHIPPED. Second, it smells like blueberry pancakes. Say no more. After my bath where I’ve washed, masked and exfoliated (thank you, Snarky bar!) I love to pick out a body butter and put it on. The scent is heavenly and the butter is THICK. Think that Noxzema cream we all used to use. Then I crawl under my sheets and I feel so relaxed. Perfect cap to a long week.

5. Any Big Fat Yummy Hand Crème. No sample pack is complete without some of this. Talk about a gateway. There are scents for every taste and it will turn even the driest hands into silky smooth appendages dangling from your arms. Best part — it’s not greasy! Go on, put some on and open every doorknob you see! Plus the smell isn’t overwhelming, but just strong enough to where when you put some on, someone will inevitably say “What’s that smell? It smells delicious.”

Then there was that one time a co-worker said it reeked of onions, and I got super scared that was me. So I kept smelling my hands and…I could smell onions, too! WTF? Oh, wait, guy eating onion sandwich from Subway. NEVER MIND. My hands smell great!

Want your own crack pack? Warning. Get one and you will be an addict, hoarding all the Posh, offering it to others to get them addicted, maybe even becoming a consultant so you can deal to your friends. If you’re willing to take that chance (and really, you SHOULD, because in this hectic stressful world, we all deserve me time) shoot me an email at melissasullivan22@gmail.com and I’ll get one out to you. *Contents may vary based on what I have, but you’ll get a hand crème, mask, body butter, face cleanser and moisturizer.

NEW Masks in Posh’s Spring/Summer 2017 Catalog!

If pressed, I would have to say Posh’s best overall category of products is their face and body mask collection. Clay, mud, charcoal, enzymes, glycolic acid, shea and cocoa butters; these are a few of my favorite things. Not to mention they work quickly (my busy schedule thanks you), and because most of them are also loaded with fruit extracts or essential oils, they smell phenomenal!

My favorite masks from the new catalog are Go West (a gentle clay-based mask, deep cleansing and mildly exfoliating), Envy This (I swear, if given a French name and sold at a high-end spa, this tightening “date night mask” would cost $75 instead of $20), and All I’ve Avo Wanted (Depeche Mode lyrics AND hydrating beyond belief?! Sign me up!) Posh’s catalog does an alright job of describing their masks, but I wanted to take it a step further. In the video below, I specify which masks focus on deep cleansing, exfoliating, anti-aging, and hydrating/soothing. I know it’s 17 minutes long, but if you’re not sure which masks are right for your skin type (or your customers’ skin types if you’re a Posh consultant), it’s worth watching (said your humble narrator.) Enjoy!

Perfectly Posh Names Their Products After My Favorite Songs

Posh’s new Spring/Summer 2017 catalog is the best one yet, IMHO.

And those are just the references that jumped out at my 38-year-old brain (I’m sure you young kids could spot some more.)

Here’s a live Facebook video I made where I review some of these products and sing some of these songs (poorly.) Enjoy!

Perfectly Posh Bath Time Reviews: The Bath Cave

When I was considering opening an account with Posh back in 2015, they had just released that year’s Spooky Posh lineup. Cackle Spackle mask caught my eye with its skull theme and charcoaly goodness…I thought, “this is the skin care line I’ve been looking for my entire life!”

Time warp to Spring/Summer catalog release 2017: FULL MOON CHUNK SOAP. LOVE THE DARK BODY SCRUB. INDIGO GIRL BODY BUTTER. My ’90s goth grrl spa junkie dreams had become reality. I lit the candles and drew the bath, and decided a delightfully dark bath time video was in order. Enjoy!
